Wash Post Ed Board Tackles Defense Procurement

Rare is the day that acquisition policy makes the opinion pages of the Washington Post, but a shrinking defense industrial base is a burning platform worthy of its editors’ comment. Kudos to the Post’s Editorial Board for citing the “good job of professionalizing [Defense] acquisition teams,” but also urging the Department to “continue their disruption of the old ways of doing business.”

This editorial foreshadows the upcoming release of GAO’s High-Risk list, which perennially features this issue in its growing list of menacing management challenges facing the federal government.
